Paris in springtime is absolute bliss. All of the gardens are awash in spring color and the birds are chirping. It’s an ideal time to capture the spring magic with a Paris couples photoshoot. There really is no bad season to come to Paris, each season has its own charms, even winter. But it’s awfully difficult to beat the beauty of a Paris spring.A Paris photoshoot can be to celebrate a special event, like an engagement, anniversary, honeymoon, birthday or nothing special at all, just enjoying life and this beautiful time in Paris!
Another Chance to Meet an Amazing Client
A few years’ ago I photographed a lovely lady who was in Paris on business. Not only was she physically beautiful, but she had a halo of light around her, she had a very special quality. I really enjoyed meeting and photographing her, she was interesting, smart and very kind.
Imagine my delight, then, when several years later, after making it through the thick of the pandemic, I receive an email from her. She tells me that she and her husband will be in Paris and she’d love a photo session with him. Of course, I was thrilled to hear from her again, and to have the opportunity to photograph her and meet her husband too.
As a Paris couples photographer, I have the good fortune to meet people from all over the world. Bandna and her husband Jag live in Vancouver, British Colombia, in Canada. I’ve been one myself, what a beautiful place! Bandna selected two main locations for her couples photo session. First, the Eiffel Tower area, and then, the Tuileries Gardens. Despite it seeming cliché, most couples really do want a few photos with the Eiffel Tower. Nothing, of course, says Paris and romance like the tower. There are several beautiful vantage points to view the Eiffel Tower as well.
When I met Bandna again, she looked just as beautiful and radiant as the last time I saw her. Wearing a gorgeous dress, the sunlight of her soul again radiated around her face. Bandna is a corporate attorney. she carries herself with elegance and grace, and I loved chatting with her again. She also purchased a bouquet of roses from Monceau Fleurs, and let me say, this was the most gorgeous bouquet of roses I think I’ve ever seen!
Her husband Jag is a medical doctor and was incredibly warm, friendly, and also fun to speak with. He had a great spirit too. To be honest, sometimes men in a couple aren’t too thrilled about the idea of photographs. Sometimes women aren’t, it just depends on the couple. The reality is, photographs in Paris, in the lavender fields of Provence, or along the French Riviera, are really fun. But being a “model” can also be intimidating, and exhausting. I try to take all of that away, and make the whole experience a fun and relaxing one. I was so happy when Jag told me at the end of their two-hour session, that he’d had a lot of fun.
An Early Start at the Eiffel Tower and Then to the Garden
We began the photoshoot with some lovely views of the Eiffel Tower from the Seine riverside, then moving to the double decker bridge, known as the Pont Bir Hakeim. It’s really one of the most unique and pretty bridges in Paris. After we finished here, we went across town to the Tuileries Gardens, which were lovely in bloom with spring flowers like tulips and the famous pink Judas trees that bloom around mid-April. From there, we went to the beautiful square called Place Dauphine and also walked a bit along the river.
It was an absolutely magical day with a friendly, kind, warm and beautiful couple. Its days like this I treasure so much. For me, photography is an important part of what I do, but not the only part. It’s important to connect with people, to share laughs, stories, and even for a short time, share a human connection. Because at the end of the day, photography is showing the connection between what the photographer and camera observes, and the emotions and love between people.
I’m so glad Bandna reached out to me again upon her return to Paris. It was like seeing a cherished friend after a long absence, and meeting Jag was a highlight as well.
Aaah…April in Paris, it’s absolute love!
