Paris is such a romantic city, you probably don’t need an entire itinerary to create memorable moments with your partner. At the same time, it never hurts! We have so many wonderful gems as well as brand-new ways to elevate your experience. If you have been considering this spot for your next getaway, it helps to know all the ways you can explore this city. That’s exactly why I am here! As an English-speaking American photographer living in France, I adore working with couples to give them their dream trips. Here are some of the most romantic things to do in Paris.

Plan The Perfect Getaway With These Romantic Things To Do In Paris
Le Calife
Port des Saints-Peres, 75006 Paris, France
If you ask me, Le Calife shows you Paris the romantic way it deserves to be seen! This cruise takes you down the banks of the Seine while customizing your experience however you’d like. For around two hours, you will get a historic tour of Paris while enjoying some classic French gastronomy. You will be able to choose from seats on the terrace, the veranda, or the living room. Every table is right next to a window, so you can always have a premium view!

The Louvre at Night
75001 Paris, France
If you are planning a romantic visit to Paris, there is a good chance that the Louvre is already pretty high on your list. If you need a way to make your trip to the hotel a little more romantic, I think I have just the thing! The Louvre at Night gives you the chance to see the masterpieces under the evening lights. During this time, the crowds thin, and the glass pyramid is illuminated beneath the night sky. Just be sure to bring some snacks since most of the restaurants are closed during the evening.

Les Ombres
27 quai Jacques Chirac, 75007 Paris France
Your romantic trip to Paris is not complete without a moonlit dinner. That’s where Les Ombres comes in! This restaurant is located on the roof of the Musee du Quai Branley and overlooks the Eiffel Tower. While it’s a great view no matter the time of day, it becomes pretty transcendent in the evening. Not only is the view fabulous, but the food is some of the best in the city! You can enjoy a glass of champagne over a small dish meal.

Montmartre District
Parvis du Sacre-Coeur, 75018 Paris France
When you are in the city, you have to take a trip to the Montmarte District! This picturesque space gives you a village that has inspired countless painters throughout the years. There are narrow cobblestone streets and lush gardens, as well as colorful buildings with that classic French feel. There are also a few pretty iconic landmarks, including the Moulin Rouge windmill and the Sacre-Coeur Basilica. As you explore, you can take a break at one of the restaurants and enjoy authentic French food on the terrace.

Jardin du Luxembourg
15, Rue de Vaugaird, 75291 Paris Cedex 06
Jardin du Luxembourg gives you a bit of a natural romantic reprieve from the rest of Paris. While you can still see much of Paris, the 25 hectares give you a way to unwind and admire one of the most beautiful gardens in the entire world. The area is so romantic. I have even helped someone plan their proposal in front of the Medici Fountain! As you walk through the area, you’ll find trees dating back centuries, as well as buildings that were built just after the French Revolution. You can read about French history while admiring all the work that went into creating such a gorgeous green space.

Eiffel Tower Champagne Bar
Av. Gustave Eiffel, 75007 Paris France
Most couples make a trip to the Eiffel Tower a priority during their getaway, but I would encourage you to take this destination to the next level. Literally! Pretty much every floor of the Eiffel Tower has restaurants, but the Champagne Bar at the top is probably my favorite. This spot gives you the chance to split champagne and caviar with your beloved while taking in the entire city. Raise a glass and take in the best view in the world!

Lake Daumesnil
Route de Ceinture du lac, 75012 Paris France
If you are looking for a way to get the tiniest escape from the city, I think you’ll adore Lake Daumesnil! The lake is just outside of Paris and offers boat rentals, so you can take a quiet romantic tour of the water. For about 45 minutes, you’ll get the chance to discover one of the most tranquil spots in all of France. Boat rentals are always available, and you can board as soon as you arrive. You don’t even have to worry about booking before you get here!

The Terrace at Galeries Lafayette
40 Bd Haussman, 75009 Paris France
If you need the best spot in the city to catch a sunset, look no further than The Terrace at Galeries Lafayette. The building’s terrace is on the 8th floor and lets you see all the major landmarks. As the sun starts to sink, you can watch as spots like Notre Dame or the Eiffel Tower are awash in its warm glow. The building contains several restaurants where you can share a meal once you’re done taking in the sites.
