Morgan and Fred chose Arles for their engagement session because they wanted something that felt both romantic and authentic, away from the crowds of Paris or the Côte d’Azur. They were spending a few weeks traveling through France, the French Riviera. Morgan and Fred became engaged in Nice, France and then were traveling through Provence. They wanted their engagement photos to capture not just their love story—but also the essence of the region that had completely captured their hearts.
When they reached out, they mentioned that they loved candid, natural photography—images that felt like real moments rather than posed perfection.
That’s exactly what I love to create. My approach is always documentary at heart: to guide just enough to help couples feel comfortable, but then to let the laughter, gestures, and spontaneous moments unfold.
Exploring the Old Town of Arles
We began our Provence engagement session in the old town of Arles, just as the morning light began to spill through the narrow alleys. The streets of Arles are pure charm—featuring cobblestones, pastel façades, and wooden shutters that have aged beautifully in the Provençal sun.
Morgan wore a super cute blue and white dress in a muted blue tone, while Fred chose a relaxed button-down and trousers that complemented the color palette of the town perfectly. Their style felt effortlessly aligned with Arles itself—timeless, understated, and full of texture.
As we wandered, I asked them to walk hand in hand, to stop whenever they felt drawn to a moment or a view. We paused by sunlit doorways, old stone fountains, and tiny cafés that were just opening for the day. One of my favorite images was taken just down the street from the Roman amphitheater, and the morning light was so soft and beautiful.

From the grandeur of the amphitheatre, we wandered down to La Roquette, one of Arles’ most beloved neighborhoods. Known for its narrow lanes and colorful houses, La Roquette has a charm that’s both rustic and artistic—a reflection of the creative spirit that defines Arles.
This part of town feels more intimate, less polished, and full of little details that bring warmth to a session: ivy climbing over pastel walls, laundry fluttering in the breeze, and terracotta pots overflowing with flowers. Morgan and Fred immediately fell in love with it.
Here, we let things flow completely naturally. They danced on the cobblestones, shared quiet kisses, and shared tender moments. The candid moments we captured in La Roquette were so full of life and movement—they felt like small snapshots from a love story unfolding in real time.
