Castle Hill

Castle Hill is a historic Nice, France area atop a 92m hill to propose on. While it might be a bit of a trek, it offers panoramic views of the French Riviera as a reward. The observation deck tends to be a great spot for proposals, giving you the best views of the surrounding city. If you plan on using this spot, there are a few things to know. First, be ready to hike! While it’s not a difficult climb, it can be pretty tiring. It’s definitely not a spot for stilettos! There is an elevator that will take you to the top, but it can sometimes close with no warning. I would arrive at least 25 minutes before your proposal so you can climb if you need. Don’t worry. The top gives you plenty of ways to kill time if you arrive a bit too early.
Old Town Nice

Located near the base of Castle Hill, Old Town Nice is perfectly romantic, with plenty of spots where you can pop the question. This area is picturesque, with cobblestone streets that take you past colorful houses and lush courtyards. There are several spots where you can plan your proposal. The fountain in front of The Cathedral of St. Reparata gives you a historical backdrop, while the cobblestone streets give you a storybook atmosphere. Once you’re done, you can share some champagne outside the bistros!
Promenade des Anglais

If you want the classic French Riviera feel to propose, I think you’ll love Promenade des Anglais in Nice, France! This historic strip takes you alongside the clear blue water while surrounding you with the city’s best attractions. The pebble beaches tend to give you one of the best backgrounds throughout your pictures. While this spot is gorgeous any time of day, it becomes magical as the sun starts to set below the water. Trust me, those proposal pics will be positively dreamy!
Port of Nice

Some of the best views around can be found in the Port of Nice. Older fishing boats sail across the waves while a lighthouse welcomes them back to the shore. The colorful buildings and clear blue water are going to be the best backdrop for your proposal! If you are feeling particularly adventurous, you can walk across the stone walkway to get to the lighthouse before getting down on one knee. Once you are done here, you can head into the surrounding village and get some pictures in front of the scenic buildings.
Mont Boron

If you need another way to take in the views of the French Riviera when you propose in Nice, France, I think you’ll love Mont Boron! This hill takes you 200 m above sea level and shows off the entire village of Villefranche-sur-Mer. At the top is a stone lookout, adding a bit more romance to your moment. In order to reach the top, you will be able to use a city bus. If you would prefer to go on foot, the path isn’t too strenuous, especially not with the right shoes.
Plage Beau Rivage

Plage Beau Rivage is seriously one of the best beaches alongside the French Riviera. This beach is right alongside Hotel Nice Beau Rivage and pairs your visit with world-class service for a positively luxurious time! You can spend some time basking in the shade and enjoying some drinks before going for a stroll along the waves. Once the ring is on your partner’s finger, you can head over to the restaurant to celebrate with a really great meal and a glass of champagne.
Quai Rauba Capeu
East side of the Promenade des Anglais, 06300 Nice, France
Quai Rauba Capeu puts you out directly over the water with the picturesque Promenade des Anglais in the background. This area has become so beloved for the #ILoveNice sign overlooking the water. You can stop here for some selfies before heading down to the stone walkway that brings you right to the edge of the water. When you propose, you will have the boats sailing across the crystal blue water near the brightly colored Nice, France building.
Arènes de Cimiez

Arènes de Cimiez is one of the neatest spots throughout all of Nice. Years ago, this site held a Roman amphitheater with enough space for up to 5,000 people. Over the years, the amphitheater has been destroyed, but the ruins still remain. As you walk along the park, you are going to get gorgeous pieces of ancient architecture that will serve as the backdrop for your pictures. Once it’s time for your proposal, you will have a background that looks as though it’s straight out of a storybook!
Coco Beach

If you want a backdrop that’s a little more untamed, I think you are going to love Coco Beach! Because the rocks can be a bit harder to navigate, you won’t get as many crowds here as you might with other beachy locations. If you are up for a bit of adventure, you will have the light stones and the waves breaking along the banks. There are also rocky coves and some of the most breathtaking sunsets around!
