Joyful autumn vow renewal in Paris for a couple in love, what a morning in Paris!

I was contacted by Jane, who lives in San Francisco, to inquire about a vow renewal in Paris. She and her husband Jason have been married for seven years, and they were coming to Paris. Jane thought it would be a lovely idea to renew their vows in Paris. After all, you have so much grandeur in Paris with the Eiffel Tower, of course, as well as the many monuments and gardens. Autumn is an ideal time to visit Paris as well. The tourist season has died down and it’s a bit quieter, but there’s still so much going on in the city. Jane said that they didn’t really have some nice photos together, so she booked my Diamond Vow Renewal package, which includes photography of the vow renewal ceremony plus a few hours’ of fun and memorable Paris photography afterward.

After speaking to Jane online quite a few times, I was so excited to meet her and her husband! The day was overcast, and if I’m to be honest, a bit gloomy, but not when I first saw Jane and Jason! Jane, a petite lady of Thai descent, who has lived in the US for many years was stunningly gorgeous. Her hair was magnificent and her makeup professionally applied by Modern Beauties. She had a colorful and elegant dress, which Jane told me she selected because blue is her favorite color. Jason is a really tall man, and was dressed to impressed in a really nice suit. It’s always wonderful to dress up for your vow renewal, you’re in Paris after all! To complete the look, Jane wore pretty pink shoes and carried a sumptuous bouquet filled with many types of flowers. Flowers! I love flowers! Perfect for a vow renewal.

Now as nice as Jane and Jason looked on the outside, it was their insides that touched me. They’re really nice people. They were up for anything, had a spirit of adventure and were just lovely to chat with. They made my morning so amazing. I don’t know if my clients realize that they really do make my day. Being with them, learning about them, and photographing them is a highlight in my life. Jane and Jason were a huge highlight. Even though the sun wasn’t out, their sunshine kept me warm and toasty.

Vow renewal ceremony at the Eiffel Tower

Most couples coming to Paris for their Paris vow renewal ceremony would love a view of the Eiffel Tower. The two best locations are in the Trocadero Gardens and near the Eiffel Tower river side. If it rains, we can go to a covered spot, but then we may not have a view of the Eiffel Tower. No worries, because no matter what (rain or shine), we’ll still capture magical photos at the Eiffel Tower.

Jane selected Aude as her Paris celebrant. Aude is a friendly French lady who speaks fluent English. She crafted a beautiful vow renewal for Jane and Jason with tons of meaning for them personally. We selected a spot in the garden for a beautiful view of La Dame Eiffel and Jane and Jason read their vows to each other. It never gets old to hear lovely people tell each other how much they love each other and how much they mean to each other. Jane and Jason met the modern way, online, and are clearly a great couple and a great fit for each other. They promised to continue loving and supporting each other forever, and I felt some water welling in my eyes. Love is just a magnificent thing!

At the conclusion of this beautiful ceremony, they sealed their ongoing love with a kiss and then signed a lovely certificate they’ll take home with them and treasure from their Paris vow renewal.

We started our photography with more photos from various vantage points of the Eiffel Tower. More at Trocadero, as well as Bir Hakeim bridge and finally, Square Rapp, which has a very unique viewpoint of the famous landmark. Jane and Jason were super smart too, as they booked the driver I recommended for the morning. We drove around in warmth and style in a Mercedes Benz and our driver is so kind and helpful. This way we didn’t waste any time at all waiting for a taxi or Uber. No standing outside waiting in the cold, and we were able to go many more places this way. From the Eiffel Tower to the Louvre and beyond

I have to admit, I was having so much fun photographing Jane and Jason! I took them to my favorite spots. Pont Alexandre Bridge, followed by a stop in the Tuileries Gardens, and then over the Louvre. By this time we had light sprinkles, but with umbrellas we were able to keep going. I felt like keeping Jane and Jason forever, but they did have other things to do in Paris! Our last two stops were in the Marais, an area I rarely get to go to because we just run out of time. By the time we reached the Place des Vosges, the sun had started to pop out and the autumn leaves were just beautiful. We walked around the square and then a bright yellow VW van caught my eye. Not typically something you’d expect to see in Paris, but eye catching, and Jane and Jason were so nice to indulge me to photograph them with the van.

Just on the other side of the Place des Vosges is the Hotel Sully. Hotels in Paris refer to large mansions, in addition to establishments that provide lodging. The courtyard at Hotel Sully is something special, and a place I’d never photographed a client. We just run out of time, but with the private driver, we had plenty of time.

We capped off our morning with coffee at one of the most elegant restaurants in Paris, Chez Julien. The terrace is really elegant and so is the inside of the restaurant. Jane and Jason sipped coffee while we shared stories (Jane is going to send me her amazing recipe for pad Thai) and just enjoyed talking about life.

I really did not want to say goodbye, I can’t remember a time I’ve had so much fun! Okay, I take that back, I have fun all the time, but Jane and Jason were so special that my fun was enhanced all the more.
